TOWSON, MD— Twenty-two Baltimore County Public Schools students have been recognized in the 2012–2013 Young Authors Contest coordinated by the Baltimore County Reading Council.
Nine students were named winners and 13 others received honorable mentions in poetry and short story categories. The contest is open each year to students in grades 2–8.

An awards ceremony for the Baltimore County Young Authors Contest will be held Friday, May 3, at the Oregon Ridge Lodge from 5 -7 p.m. The nine winning entries are now being considered in a statewide competition directed by the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council (SoMIRAC).
